Life has a funny way of leading us down unexpected paths. After being laid off from my finance job, I found myself at a crossroads, questioning my career choices and longing for something more fulfilling. It was during this time of reflection that I discovered my love for plants and my innate ability to figure things out. Today, I want to share with you the reasons why I decided to start my own landscape company, embracing my passion for plants and my desire for independence.

1. A Passion for Plants:
Throughout my life, I’ve always had a deep appreciation for the beauty and serenity that plants bring to our surroundings. Whether it was tending to my own garden or admiring the landscapes in my neighborhood, I found solace and joy in the presence of greenery. Starting a Tampa landscape company allowed me to turn this passion into a career, where I could work with plants every day and share their beauty with others.

2. Independence and Autonomy:
Being laid off from my finance job was a wake-up call that made me realize I never wanted to be at the mercy of someone else’s decisions again. I craved the freedom to create my own path and be in control of my professional destiny. Starting my own landscape company provided me with the opportunity to be my own boss, set my own schedule, and make decisions that aligned with my values and vision.

3. Problem-Solving and Creativity:
One of the aspects I love most about landscaping is the constant problem-solving and creativity it requires. From designing a functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space to troubleshooting plant health issues, every project presents unique challenges that require innovative solutions. I thrive on the opportunity to figure things out, to experiment with different plant combinations, and to create landscapes that exceed my clients’ expectations.

4. Connecting with Nature and People:
Working in finance, I often felt disconnected from the natural world and the people around me. Starting a landscape service company allowed me to bridge that gap and reconnect with both. I now have the privilege of spending my days surrounded by nature, nurturing plants, and witnessing their growth. Additionally, I have the opportunity to connect with clients who share my love for plants and desire to create beautiful outdoor spaces. Building these relationships and seeing the joy on my clients’ faces when they see their transformed landscapes is incredibly rewarding.
